Relationship coaching

Relationship coaching potentially focuses on all aspects of a relationship, depending on your question.

Often, a relationship issue presents itself in a shape or form that only represents the expression of the problem at the surface. Together, we will look for the underlying cause of your issue, so you can find a more lasting solution. When addressing the real source of a problem, the change that is needed to solve the problem will feel more natural and will make more sense.

For information about coaching in general, also see: Coaching General.
Topics that may also be looked at in relationship coaching include: Boundaries, individual vs. relationship goals, patterns from the past, understanding differences, communication styles, self-esteem, taking responsibility, intimacy, and many others.

The main goal is to help you grow your relationship consciousness. Understanding yourself, your partner and the relationship is the start to actively creating the relationship that you want. Once this stage has been reached, we can work together on potential behavioral changes or on finding a new effective communication style that works well for you within your relationship.

You decide whether you want individual coaching, or with your partner. In certain occasions, I may propose individual sessions or sessions together as a part of the process, depending on the topic and situation.

Examples for relationship coaching topics:

  • I feel misunderstood by my partner; how can I make myself be understood?
  • How can I find balance between personal time and relationship time?
  • How can we find agreement on our finances?
  • My partner cheated on me. Should I break up?
  • My partner is very jealous. How can I find a way to deal with that?
  • We never talk anymore. How can we bring passion back to our relationship?
  • My partner never does anything around the house.  What to do?
  • My partner has some traits that remind me of some very annoying traits of my parents! How can I let this affect me less?
  • My relationships never work out. How can I change this?

Depending on the topic, a coaching process will consist of 6 to 10 sessions of 1 to 1.5 hours each.
